FAQ
What is EGG? What does it stand for?
Since 2017, EGG has attracted more than 2,000 data leaders at the world’s first conference focused not just on what AI can do, but practically, how companies can get there. EGG speakers are hand selected because they have been through the organisational and technical change associated with AI transformation before and want to share their insights and learnings with their peers.
And speaking of transformation, E-G-G isn’t a fancy acronym. An egg is something full of life and potential that represents birth (or rebirth) and change. At the end of the day, doing AI for real will be a process, and it won’t happen overnight - it will take fundamental and radical organisational metamorphosis. So that’s why: EGG.
Who is Dataiku?
The EGG conferences worldwide are brought to you by Dataiku, the centralised data platform that moves businesses along their data journey from analytics at scale to enterprise AI. More than 200 customers across retail, e-commerce, health care, finance, transportation, the public sector, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and more use Dataiku to power self-service analytics while also ensuring the operationalisation of machine learning models in production.

Who is EGG for?
The EGG conferences are focused on providing businesses with real-world insight as they embark on (or continue down) the path to AI. Talks and workshops will primarily be aimed at:
- Business leaders (for example, CDOs, data team leaders, or heads of innovation) who are looking to accelerate their AI efforts strategically.
- Individual contributors (like data scientists and analysts) who want to help accelerate their data teams’ growth and potential.
EGG provides practical insight to bring back to larger teams as well as concrete steps for data team improvement.
What’s new and different about EGG in 2019?
The world of AI is changing quickly, so while last year’s EGG conferences placed a heavy focus on preparing for and executing necessary organisational change, this year will bring some new angles. In particular, EGG 2019 will feature talks and workshops surrounding AI interpretability, bias, and fairness, which is increasingly becoming a hot topic both in the newsroom and in the boardroom.
